Technologies on Smartphones That You Should Look For

Apple has unveiled two underwhelming products with iPhone 5S and 5C . That was the major news for the last week. Although the devices completely lacked any inspiration, they have included two very important things—the touch ID sensor for security and the 64-bit architecture for better computing. Earlier we also mentioned what Apple should have done . In Android devices, we have a huge number of innovations too that we got to see in the past few months. In this article, let me discuss a few innovations that you have to look for in your next smartphone. 1. NFC Near Field Communication has always been regarded as a cutting edge technology. You can’t throw a stone now without hitting an Android device with NFC technology. It is a secure way that devices can connect by simply bringing them together. Right now, NFC has yet to find applications in the current smartphone market. The technology is not new, although it has yet to have any big applications. However, NFC has its importance....

Why Apple iPhone Business May Die Soon?

You may have read the previous post in which I mentioned what Apple as a company must do . They should have done a number of things with the iPhone to refresh the product line. However, they have released an iterative, slightly modified iPhone 5 with iPhone 5S. It has virtually no improvement to speak about. You will have no idea how Apple is stealing your money with a substandard device, simply by looking at the new iPhone website or the presentation below. Already you may be seeing a lot of criticism directed at Apple for being stupid about this product. Steve Jobs wouldn’t have liked this. We have the technical specifications of iPhone 5S here, compared to iPhone 5. We did a short review on Surface RT tablets earlier in the blog. We also checked out Surface Pro, and their performance . Also, Surface RT is a tablet quite different from what you expect from a Windows tablet, and as a result they failed in the market . With these said, Microsoft has sent out invitations for an event in NYC on Sept 23 , where they will unveil the next generation of the tablets—Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2. What Apple Really Needs to Do With iPhone 5S and 5C?

We have news that iPhone 5S and a possible mid-range version, iPhone 5C will be launched by the tenth of this month. There have been numerous rumors of these devices already. It’s Apple, and iPhone’s the most prestigious smartphone ever made; hence, there definitely will be rumors floating around year round. Antivirus and Internet Security Software for Apple Macintosh

Are you a fan of Apple Macintosh computers? Do you run Mac OS X Lion or Mountain Lion? Are you planning on upgrading to Mavericks? You should be wondering about the viruses, malware, and Internet security on Apple Macintosh systems. It is appalling to know that there are many threads online talking about antivirus on Mac, and some so-called ‘experts’ say there is no need for an antivirus on Macintosh. They couldn’t be more wrong. Although there are very few viruses affecting Mac in comparison to PC, there are. Viruses and malwares are increasing in the Mac domain as well, and Apple is getting concerned about them quite a bit. Hence, it is imperative that you install an antivirus and Internet security application on your Mac computer. Recently, NYTimes Bits posted  about widespread virus attacks on Macintosh. Here is an image showing the major malware and viruses on Mac. In this time, you very much need to get a very good antivirus and Internet security application for M...

An App That Records Things That Transpired Five Minutes Ago

If you have been in a situation in which you desperately wish you could go back in time and hear something again, then you are in luck. Here is an app called Heard  that can record anything that your iPhone’s mic picked up, up to 5 minutes back. The slogan of this app itself is quite explicit: “Turn your iPhone into a time machine!” Heard starts working as soon as you open it, by capturing everything through the mic. It stores the sounds into a tiny buffer that can store up to five minutes of audio. It simply refreshes to include fresh audio from the surroundings. Whenever you want to store something you heard, you simply push the big button to save. All those snippets of conversation you saved will be available in the library from which you can share it on Facebook or by email. The app can listen from the background and can set the buffer size to 12 seconds, 30 seconds, one minute, or five minutes. This is quite a useful app for most people. If you simply want ...

An In-Depth Preview of Apple’s New iOS 7

I have been studying the new iOS 7 for a few days now, and it seems apt to make a post about it right now. It has been more than ten days since Apple introduced the latest edition of the legendary mobile OS in the World Wide Developer Conference. For such a long time, iPhone and iOS have been in need for a formidable software update. iOS 7 is that update. For how long can Apple keep competing with a more streamlined open-source operating system like Android? While new mobile operating systems, such as Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10 , were making an entrance, iOS stayed the same. While innovative user interfaces were being ported on top of Android by device manufacturers like HTC and Samsung, iOS stayed stale and strong. Time has finally come for it to stay stale no longer. This is what motivated the operating system update. The person who was in charge of iOS and the desktop operating systems in Apple was Scott Fortsall, who left Apple after the Maps fiasco . Lately, the hardwar...

Apple Mac Pro With a Great New Cylindrical Design: What You Need to Know?

WWDC has seen some quite amazing achievements by Apple, and one of the most eye-candy is the new Mac Pro. Mac Pro is the desktop PC from Apple, running the new Mac OS X ‘Mavericks’ operating system, rival to Microsoft Windows. Let’s see what is new in this new Pro PC, which is, first of all, kind of different in looks. Check it out: Perched on a cylindrical metal pole inside a glass cylinder as shown here is the new cylindrical Mac Pro. You can see the expansion ports—USB and Apple’s own Thunderbolt ports, Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI, power port, etc. How Is Mac Pro Different? In terms of design, this is something that nobody has ever attempted. As Apple is pretty savvy in the design of its products, this Mac Pro also has a unique, industry-leading design. The entire PC is within a cylindrical column of 9.9 inches by 6.6 inches, which means, it is slightly taller than your iPad 4 and not even as wide. Quite a tiny form factor for an extremely powerful desktop computer, isn’t ...
